APPLETON fourth team struggled to put out 11 players against league leaders Didsbury fifth XI.
Despite being soundly beaten, Appleton collected some points to edge them further up the league and several young players gained vital experience.
Seven bowlers were used and all but one claimed wickets, with Will Ralston and Ahmeer Aslam the pick.
Aslam also top-scored with the bat.
