Cheshire Cats 4 Telford Raiders 36
CHESHIRE Cats were beaten by a physical Telford Raiders side in an entertaining, penalty-free game on Saturday.
Strong and well-drilled, Telford controlled the game and their star players, hooker Connor Adams, prop Tom Miles and loose forward Joe Richards, scored all their points.
Cats prevented the visitors from adding too much to their 20-0 half-time lead through inventive attacking play and determined defending.
Taylor Boyne scored Cats’ only try by collecting a cross-field kick following sustained pressure.
Ben Povey, Cats director of performance and development, believed the scoreline did not reflect the character and heart shown by the Cats.
He said: “I feel we played the better rugby in the second half due to us building pressure. I’m proud of every single Cat player today.”
