WARRINGTON Wizards seek their third consecutive win when they entertain Hemel Hempstead Stags in the Co-operative Rugby League Conference National at Wilderspool on Sunday, kick off 2.30pm.

Player/coach Alan Kilshaw was delighted with the character shown by his side in a superb victory at Dewsbury on Saturday.

He said: “Alan Reddecliff will rightly get all the plaudits after scoring four tries, but it was a massive effort from all of the group.

“We were up against it after picking up more injuries to key personnel during the week but the guys who came in gave their all.

“We were on the wrong end of a 15-4 penalty count in the first half, as well as having two men sent to the sin bin.

“We then had John Welch harshly red-carded 15 minutes into the second half so we actually played over half of the game with 12 men.

“But the team toughed it out and seemed to rise to the challenge.”

Kilshaw added: “We'll prepare ourselves for a tough home game against Hemel Hempstead Stags.

“They are in fine form and lie in second place but we have gained a lot of confidence over the past two weeks and we will be ready to put in another fine performance.”

Kilshaw will hope that Warren Ayres will be fit for Sunday’s game.

Checks will also be needed on second row Lee Rushton, who damaged his hand on Saturday.

Matt Clarke and Matt Wilson will come into contention for a place after missing the trip to Dewsbury.
