WARRINGTON were all out for 40 at Chorley and suffered an eight-wicket defeat which keeps them firmly entrenched at the foot of the Cheshire County League Division One table.

The tally was the lowest in the division since Cheadle Hulme mustered only 29 runs against Bollington in the final match of last season.

Two bowlers, Dave Dooler and Adam Watkins, took nine wickets between them.

Cheadle were home and dry by 3.45 pm, clocking up 43 for 2 in 10 overs.

Warrington’s second XI capitulated to a less than average Cheadle Hulme bowling attack in Saturday’s league loss but defeated Marple by 75 runs the following day in a cup match.

Cheadle had declared having managed to score 189 for 7.

Pick of the Warrington bowlers were R Stirrup, 2 for 44, and R Swart, 1 for 17.

Roberts, 39, and Stirrup, 43, were the only Warrington batsmen to achieve double figures before the team fell to 112.

Against Marple, Kirby chalked up a half century as Warrington built 161 for 9.

Nunn and Stoker each took three wickets as Marple were bowled out for 86.

Warrington’s third string made it five wins in a row against a poor Timperley side.

Man of the match James Sharrock scored an aggressive 48 and kept wicket well.

Wickets were shared between Charlton, Tilstone and Kumar.

Warrington’s fourth XI drew with Timperley.

Some positive hitting by Derek Bate, 40, and a steady 27 from Mans Naseem gave Warrington a good start.

Runs were then difficult to score until Sam Nicholls, 25, and Tom Lloyd, 20, added 36 for the seventh wicket to give the home side a reasonable total of 154.

Timperley were never able to rise above a defensive mode as Billy Gilbert bowled seven maidens in nine overs.

Mike Cornelia, with 3 for 2, and Mans Naseem, 2 for 12, did their best to bring victory but Timperley held out.
