WARRINGTON cricketer Kate Skelhorn played a key role in one of Cheshire's greatest performances.

The Cheshire women’s team comfortably recorded their first ever win over Lancashire in the sunshine at Alvanley on Sunday.

Cheshire hauled back Lancashire's total of 61 for the loss of only three wickets.

A period of total Cheshire domination saw the Red Rose reduced from 17 for 0 to 34 for 8, with Skelhorn taking the first four wickets in her spell of 4 for 17 in nine overs.
