KYLE Chapman won the battle of the leaders in the Warrington Junior Bowls League Premier Division after beating Liam Sullivan 15-14.
Mat Gatley maintained his push for honours by winning both of his games and there was a welcome return to form for Adam Lea, Ben Morley and Jade Chapman.
Rebecca Higgin still leads Division One but was pushed all the way in her second game by Louis Allen, just managing to clinch an important 15-13 victory thanks to two brilliant bowls in the encounter’s final end.
Scot Brown and James Maher continued their good run of form and will be pushing her all the way to become champion, as will last year’s winner Mike Yule who claimed victory in both of his games.
Meanwhile, Jack Penketh produced the game of the day in the newcomer’s section to show he has a promising future.
Play continues on Saturday at Orford War Memorial.
