WARRIORS of Warrington Swimming Club achieved nine gold, 18 silver and 10 bronze medals at the weekend’s Manchester Open Meet.

David Richardson gained a national qualifying time in the 11-year-old boys’ 400m freestyle race, which will enable him to enter the national age group championship.

Richardson won the 400m and 200m freestyle and the 200m individual medley, while Bethany Young took three gold medals, winning the 11-year-old girls’ 200m and 100m butterfly events and the 400m individual medley.

Other gold medallists were Aimee Harvey in the 13-year-old girls’ 50m butterfly, Bradley Harrison in the 11-year-old boys’ 100m freestyle event and Kathleen Dawson in the 11-year-old girls’ 50m backstroke.
