WARRINGTON’S under 15s maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a comfortable victory over Stretton.

They restricted Stretton to 92 for 5 off their 25 overs, with a battling 40 not out coming from Rob Jones.

James Mitchell, 2 for 18, was the pick of the Warrington bowlers.

Warrington set off briskly in pursuit of their target and sealed victory in 17 overs.

Ryan Gratton, 39 not out, and Tom Clutterbuck, 19, were the leading batsmen.

The victory puts Warrington top in the qualifying section of the Cheshire Cricket League.

Rylands’ under 15s played Grappenhall in the Cheshire County League.

M France hit a quickfire 41 not out for Grappenhall in their 134 for 5.

Amir Aslam hit 40 not out in Rylands’ run chase but Rylands score of 123 for 9 left them 12 short of victory.

Warrington’s under 13s beat Rylands by 56 runs.

Warrington reached 92 for 8 in their 20 overs thanks to thoughtful contributions by Sam Pennington, 22 not out, and Ben McCarthy, 18 not out. Mark Hollett bowled well for Rylands, taking 5 for 11.

Rylands started brightly in reply but three wickets from Pennington and Robinson, together with two from Bowman, meant that they fell short of their target.

Stretton’s under 13s drew with Northwich, who opened with 98 for 6.

Jack Lewis took two wickets for seven runs.

Stretton's reply was 92 for 4 with Lewis scoring an unbeaten 30.
