AUSTRALIAN Steven Carlile toppled seven wickets but finished on a beaten Warrington side on Saturday.

With help from Carlile’s bowling display, Warrington restricted Upton to 146 but lost by 23 runs in the Cheshire Country Cricket League First Division clash at Walton Lea Road.

Warrington started poorly in reply and found themselves at 65 for 5.

Steve Heydon and the injured Malc Agar were going well until what appeared to be a poor decision ended Agar’s time in the middle. Warrington then fell to 123 all out.

Warrington’s third XI made it three wins on the trot with Irby being the latest vistims.

Jon Stoker took six wickets and Wes Charlton three as Irby were reduced to 113.

Stoler, Lindop and Sharrock all scored runs as Warrington chased down Irby’s total for the loss of five men.

Warrington’s fourth string won at Brooklands Sale Moor by four wickets.

Brooklands could not make any headway against the opening attack of Joel Chaderton and Zaheer.

Man of the match Billy Gilbert’s accurate and slower pace then saw him take 4 for 28.

A late burst from Raj Patel gave him 3 for 13, leaving the home side all out for 133.

A stand of 88 from Gilbert, 53, and Tom Corroboy, 42, laid the foundation for the success.
