GRAPPENHALL laid the platform for victory against table-topping Bramhall but key wicket losses left them with a draw.
Early wickets reduced Bramhall to 41 for 3 in the Cheshire County Cricket League First Division clash and Grappers looked in a strong position to apply further pressure on a good pitch.
A partnership of 97 between Dawson, who went on to complete his century, and Marshall enabled Bramhall to reach 204 for 8 in their 50 overs.
Grappers looked in a strong position as they replied with 88 for 2 but the loss of Richard Green for 45 left the match in the balance at 100 for 4.
A positive innings of 24 from wicket keeper Parkinson kept Grappers in the game but when Steve Titchard was removed for 31 Grappers finished on 174 for 8.
