WARRINGTON under 15s representative soccer team lost 2-1 to Stockport in the schools’ equivalent of the FA Cup Final on Monday night.

Warrington conceded two goals in the opening four minutes as they took their time to adjust to a very intimidating atmosphere at Stockport County’s Edgeley Park ground.

As the first half progressed, Warrington started to take control but found it difficult to pierce the strong Stockport defence.

The entire second half was played in the Stockport half but Warrington, despite a tremendous effort, could not get the goal that would get them back into the game until Joe Guest converted a late penalty.

In a frantic finale, Warrington had two shots saved off the line.

Although the game ended in defeat, the Warrington team should take great pride not only for their display against Stockport but also in reaching the final itself.
