WARRINGTON Athletics Club pair Rachel Jefferson and James Ellis are set to represent their country at the World Youth Mountain Running Challenge.
For 16-year-old Jefferson, it is a first international call-up and she will take her place in the England athletics team at the event in Ostheim Vor Der Rhoen, Germany on June 27.
She earned her place after a fine showing in the trial race at the Coiners Fell Race the previous day.
At the same trial race, club colleague and fellow training group member James Ellis also caught the selectors’ eyes and he has been selected to travel with the team, competing in the Challenge as a non-scoring England Athletics team member.
