VINNIE Anderson’s Warrington Wolves future appears uncertain.

The 30-year-old back-rower, whose wife gave birth to the couple’s fifth child on Sunday, is out of contract in November but has yet to agree a new deal.

Although Anderson says he and his family are settled in Warrington, the former Kiwi international is considering his options before making any decisions.

Brother Louis has already committed to the club for a further two years and that could be a major factor in Anderson’s thinking.

But the pair’s other sibling Fraser recently signed a lucrative deal with Japanese rugby union side Kobe and rumours in the New Zealand press last month, prior to Louis agreeing a new deal, suggested his brothers were also considering a move to the Far East.

“I’ve got a few options that have presented themselves but I have been speaking with the club and told them if there’s any opportunity to stay I will seriously consider it,” said Anderson.

“I have really enjoyed my time here and I’m happy at the club.

“The fact that Louis is staying will definitely play a part in my decision because our family is pretty close and it’s a great opportunity.

“But I’ve got another brother as well so I might end up playing with him one day.”

Anderson missed Sunday’s 56-8 Challenge Cup fifth round win against Featherstone due to the birth of his fourth daughter.

Both wife and baby are in good health and Anderson is keen to get back into action after returning to training on Monday.

He said: “I’m delighted, the birth went really well.

“We’ve not decided on a name yet. The kids suggested Marshmallow but I’m not really sure about that!

“I’ve got four girls now and one boy, so we’re up against it. My son and I will have to stick together so we don’t get pushed around.

“We are loving it here and we’re really settled.”

He added: “Tony was really understanding when I told him I couldn’t play.

“There were a couple of us not playing so I was getting updates throughout the game.

“But I’m ready to play on Saturday, I was back in training on Monday morning.

“I miss playing when I’m not involved.”

After undergoing a shoulder operation at the end of last season, Anderson suffered a difficult start to the current campaign but his form has picked up in recent weeks.

Moved to the second row to cover for injured brother Louis, Anderson thrived in the games against Huddersfield and Hull KR.

He is hoping to maintain those high standards for the rest of the season and is confident his teammates can do the same.

He said: “I have been happy in the last few weeks and there’s a number of factors that go into that.

“I took longer than I expected to get confidence back after the shoulder operation and that affected me at the start of this year.

“At the moment, I’m just looking to play well and do well for my teammates and my coach.

“I really feel we’re getting better and better and I think we can do well this year.”
