RYLANDS Cricket Club’s second XI defeated Appleton’s fourth string by four wickets.
Appleton were skittled out for 69 in less than 32 overs, their top scorers being Stuart McIntosh, 29, and John Ormson, 22. Rylands used just three bowlers, with Sujith taking 5 for 29, Ben Shields 4 for 6 and Mike Green 1 for 26.
Appleton were not easily defeated, with Rylands taking seven more balls to surpass their hosts’ total, losing six wickets along the way. Top bowler was Aamir Rashid with 4 for 22.
