WARRINGTON Wizards aim to get their season back on track when they travel to Huddersfield Underbank Rangers in The Co-operative Rugby League Conference on Saturday.

Wizards will be looking to bounce back from three successive defeats that has left them languishing in unfamiliar territory in the bottom echelons of the league.

Player coach Alan Kilshaw said after the 32-0 home defeat to Liverpool on Thursday: “We are obviously very disappointed as a group with the result.

“Nobody enjoys being on the end of a scoreline like that.

“The first 20 minutes saw us defend for long periods of time and that eventually got the better of us.

“The 32-0 scoreline isn’t a true reflection of the game but you have to give Liverpool credit as they handled the conditions a lot better than we did and four of their six tries came from kicks that we failed to defuse.”

Looking ahead, Kilshaw added: “Grand Finals aren’t won in April, they are won in October and as a collective unit we will look to respond in the correct manner and put in some really good work prior to a tough away game at Huddersfield.

“We know that if we can get the right result there then the confidence within the side will grow and we can then go on a good run.”

The coach leaves The Village Hotel at 11.30am for any supporters wishing to travel. Please contact Nikki Whalley on 01925 837829 to secure your place.

Buccaneers were in command from the start and never let the home team settle, becoming the first ever side to ‘nil’ Wizards.

They forced a couple of goal-line drop outs but some resolute defending kept Liverpool’s line in tact and frustrated the home side.

Best for Wizards were Stuart Pirrie, Matt Clarke and Scott Cullen.
