ALTHOUGH Tony Smith is not about to underestimate Challenge Cup opponents Featherstone Rovers, the word ‘upset’ will not be found in his vocabulary.

Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby is keen to guard against complacency ahead of their round five clash but insists they must also approach it full of confidence.

To add some extra spice to Sunday’s clash at The Chris Moyles Stadium, it is a rematch of the 1974 Challenge Cup Final, which Warrington won 24-9.

But Smith is firmly focused on the present as he prepares to go head-to-head with Fev coach Daryl Powell, the man he replaced as Leeds head coach in 2003.

He said: “It will be a physical challenge. Other people might underestimate it, we won’t. We know it’s going to be a tough game.

“They’re well coached, they’ve got a good team and a lot of players who train a lot, even if they’re not all full-time.

“They’re a pretty professional outfit and I know Daryl Powell well and he will have them psyched up for this game.

“It’s a tough game. I don’t know about banana skin, we’re not looking at it like that either.

“We’re going into this very positively, put out a strong team and go over there expecting to put in a good performance.”

Wolves suffered with injuries in Sunday’s 36-28 defeat to Hull KR at Murrayfield, as Adrian Morley, Lee Briers, Paul Wood and Louis Anderson all missed out.

But although Morley remains very doubtful with a broken hand and Briers is still struggling with a hamstring problem, both Wood and Anderson are hoping to return.
