PAUL Rauhihi believes a back to basics approach is behind Wolves’ recent good form.

Convincing wins against Bradford and Huddersfield have restored confidence and hope among the players after a miserable Easter.

Style and flair are creeping back into Wolves’ game and even Rauhihi and his fellow forwards are getting involved.

A willingness to keep the ball moving, swift passing and offloads are more prevalent among the Warrington pack, making them a more potent attacking force.

But Rauhihi puts it down to nothing more than doing the simple things well, eradicating errors and allowing them to play on the front foot.

He said: “I think it’s the fact we’ve probably got a little bit more push now.

“We probably didn’t have as much support or push in the past so that option wasn’t really there.

“But now that we’re getting it more regularly it’s a lot easier to pass it when someone’s actually there so a few boys are willing to do that now.

“Sometimes the game calls for those plays as well, so it’s a bit of a mixture.

“I think we’re not so much concentrating on putting flashy moves on, as just giving the backs good early ball.

“It is a simple game. If you do all the simple things well, you’re heading in the right direction.

“All the flashy stuff is a small percentage of the game, so if you do all the other things right you’re headed in the right direction.

“I think we’ve probably gone back to some of the fundamentals a bit more.

“Some of the things we took for granted, that we thought we knew, we probably weren’t doing and Tony Smith pointed that out to us.”
