WARRINGTON Wizards will be looking to get back to winning ways when they entertain Liverpool Buccaneers in the Co-operative Rugby League Conference National tonight, Thursday.

The game at Wilderspool, kick off 7.30pm, has been brought forward from Saturday to avoid a clash with Super League’s Murrayfield Magic weekend.

Wizards suffered their second successive defeat on Saturday when they were beaten at league newcomers Nottingham Outlaws and will be keen to make amends.

Player/coach Alan Kilshaw is upbeat despite the setback at Nottingham.

He said: “Obviously we were all disappointed with the result against the Outlaws. Normally, if you score 22 points away from home you would expect to win the game but on the day our defence was not good enough.

“We were down on bodies with injury and illness so we won’t read too much into the result. We are only three games into a 20-game season so there is no need for us to be overly concerned about the start we have had.”

Kilshaw added: “We will regroup and hopefully have a few people back for Thursday. This should enable us to put in a performance that we know we are capable of.

“Liverpool will have seen our result and will come fancying their chances. We have to be ready to meet the challenge and get the win that will get our season back on track.”
