Rylands Sharks u14 16 Orrell St James u14 12
RYLANDS Sharks’ wow of a season continues when they contest the BARLA National Cup Final at The Willows on Monday.
Sharks, who face a showdown with Dewsbury’s Shaw Cross at Salford’s ground at 2pm, completed a league and cup double when they defeated arch rivals Orrell St James to win the North West Counties Cup for the second year in a row on Sunday.
Both sides showed flair in attack and great defence but Callum Wright got over the line twice in the first half, with Lewis Charnock adding one conversion for a 10-0 lead.
Orrell scored first in the second half but Charnock’s converted try proved to be the match winner.
Orrell threw everything they had at Rylands, scoring again, but were unable to break the Rylands defence for a third time.
