Moore XV 42 Anselmians XV 19

MOORE enjoyed a 42-19 win against Anselmians in their end-of-season friendly.

The hosts started well, with Fleming stopped almost on the try line, but a breakaway by the visitors’ fast right winger saw them take the lead.

After a clean interception, Ferguson galloped over the line to level the scores before Taylor finished off a neat backs move in the corner.

Anselmians’ dangerous right winger scored again but a missed conversion meant the visitors still trailed.

The first half scoring was completed when Woollacott forced his way over in the corner to give Moore a 21-12 advantage at the break.

Helped by a sin-binning, Moore put on the pressure early in the second half and Swanton had an effort disallowed before Richards broke through several tackles to score.

Fleming powered over soon after but Anselmians came back again and got the ball down for their third try.

A jinking run by Griffiths added another try for Moore and the game was cut short by a nasty knee injury to one of the Anselmians players.

Christie kicked every conversion to widen the score to 42-19 in Moore’s favour.
