RETURNING senior middleweight Frank Collins stole the show as his Bridge Foot Boxing Club held a fight night at Alford Sports Club.
After a three-year lay-off, Collins’ fast combinations of punches earned a win on points after an action-packed contest with Newtown boxer Jonathon Flower.
Bridge Foot junior 57kg boxer Jordan West was also in devastating form, taking a unanimous decision against Wednesday’s experienced boxer Tommy Loach.
Eleven-year-old James Smith made his amateur debut, giving his opponent a standing count in the first round, but had to work hard to take a points win over Tameside elite boxer Joshua Heap.
Fifteen-year-old Aron Tariq was in devastating form, with the referee stopping his contest with Nathan Williams in the first round.
Bridge Foot’s Declan West, aged 14, lost a close contest against Kirkdale national novice champion, Anthony Bennett.
Two other Bridge Foot boxers who lost on points were 12-year-old Bill Potter against Chris Breen, Rotunda ABC Liverpool, and Joe Telford, against Zack Hardcastle.
