WARRINGTON’S Andy Knox will continue his warm-up for August’s World Transplant Games in Australia when he takes part in a competition in Knutsford today.
Knox, who has had kidney transplants from both of his parents, will tackle the tennis at the annual Transplant Sport UK Racquets Tournament at Knutsford Leisure Centre from 10am to 4pm.
Knox said: ‘I never believed I would ever have the energy to walk, let alone play tennis.
“Not a day passes without remembering that I am alive due to my parents’ selfless generosity.” Lynne Holt, UK team manager, says: “Hopefully, this event will encourage others to sign on the Organ Donor Register and most importantly, discuss their wishes with their loved ones.”
