WARRINGTON Athletics Club members sealed 10 wins and set two club records at the Trafford club’s young athletes’ open meeting at Longford Stadium, Stretford.
Star of the meeting was Kiro Smithyman-Harding who destroyed the existing club record in the under 11s boys’ 600m, taking 5.7 seconds off the previous time and also winning his heats in the 75m and 150m.
In the following 600m heat, his identical twin Cory also won, also beating the old record, but only by 4.7 seconds. He also won his 75m and 150m heats in faster times than his brother.
The other record breaker was Ashley Kirsopp in the under 13s boys’ 75m, improving the time by 0.1 second.
Ashley also won his 75m hurdles and was third in the long jump.
In the under 11s boys’ 75m, Ben Watson won his heat and was second in the 150m while Oliver Wells was second in the under 15s’ 100m heat and Josh Cook was first in the under 17s’ 100 metres hurdles and second in the long jump.
