RICHIE Mathers could make his Warrington Wolves return debut against Huddersfield Giants at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Sunday.

Squad number 30 Mathers, who signed from Wigan on the day that Martin Gleeson went the other way, is inlcuded in Wolves' 19-man squad that is preparing to do battle with the third-placed Giants.

Wolves head of coaching and rugby may elect not to include Mathers, who has been recovering from a hernia operation, instead preferring to keep the backline that served him so well in the 58-22 demolition of Bradford Bulls at Odsal on Friday.

But he will have to make at least one change in the pack, with Louis Anderson missing out with an injury.

Vinnie looks favourite to take over from brother Louis in the back row, although Smith has the option to use Simon Grix or Paul Johnson in the position.

Wolves' 19: Richie Mathers, Vinnie Anderson, Chris Bridge, Lee Briers, Garreth Carvell, Jon Clarke, Mike Cooper, Simon Grix, Ben Harrison, Chris Hicks, Mickey Higham, Paul Johnson, Matt King, Michael Monaghan, Adrian Morley, Paul Rauhihi, Chris Riley, Ben Westwood, Paul Wood.
