RYLANDS Sharks under 14s have been crowned North West Counties Premier Division champions for the second successive season.

It is a fantastic achievement for the talented youngsters and their attention now shifts to the first of their two cup finals on Sunday.

They face Orrell St James at Golborne ARLFC in the North West Counties Cup final, kick off 2pm.

Then, just over a week later, on May 4, they will compete in the BARLA National Cup final against Shaw Cross under 14s from Dewsbury. This match will be played at the Willows, Salford, kick off 2pm.

From their 20-man squad, 10 players have been chosen to represent Warrington Service Area, Lewis Charnock, Rob Hayward, Sam Hughes, Allan King, Josh Mercer, Ryan Mercer, Luke Walker, Matt Wood, Sam Woodall and Callum Wright.

And, on May 22, they will travel to the south of France to play two French teams – Catalan on May 24 and St Esteve on May 26.

This is the culmination of two years’ fundraising for the team, and is just reward for the efforts they have put in, both on and off the pitch.

Sponsors are still needed to support this tour. Anyone interested should contact Stuart Walker on 07876 408902.
