YORK City Knights prop Danny Ekis has received a two-game ban and a £50 fine for a dangerous high tackle on Wolves' Louis Anderson.
Ekis was sent off in the 64th minute of the Challenge Cup round four clash between the two teams after appearing to lead with his elbow against the Kiwi back-rower.
He also seemed to trip his opponent at the same time as he made impact.
But although a Rugby Football League disciplinary panel judged the tackle had the potential to cause serious injury, they deemed it to be unintentional.
A week later, Ekis was put on report in a game against Keighley, again for a grade C offence of striking with the forearm.
