BRADFORD head coach Steve McNamara compared his side’s 58-22 home defeat against Wolves to ‘having your teeth pulled out with no anaesthetic’.

McNamara admitted it was an embarrassing display, as his side were dominated from start to finish by a rejuvenated Warrington.

But the under-fire coach says the result has only reinforced his determination to stick it out and attempt to turn things round at Odsal.

He said: "People thing sport is glamorous but it has a dark side as well.

"It's like having your teeth pulled out with no anaesthetic. It can be a cruel game at times.

"We put in a very flat performance, which is very unlike us.

“It’s not nice to concede that many points and at home that is an embarrassing scoreline.

"I always knew I wanted to be a coach and nights like tonight probably just reaffirm that I really do want to do this job.

"In a strange sort of way, painful as it is, it just makes me want to do it even more."

"The players did not lack effort. They tried but there was nothing there from some of them.

"Some of our senior players looked like they did not have a lot left in the tank."
