AFTER a disappointing Easter weekend, Wolves hooker Jon Clarke says the players must put things right against Bradford tomorrow night.

Defeats to Salford and Castleford saw the club drop to 13th in the Super League table, with just two wins from nine games.

A quick turnaround means they have had barely any time to pick themselves up and prepare for their trip to Odsal.

But rather than complaining about the situation, Clarke sees it as a chance to quickly make amends for the poor Easter performances.

He said: “We’re obviously massively disappointed with the Easter weekend but fortunately we’ve not got to wait to long to put it right.

“It’s difficult with such a quick turnaround but every Super League side’s got to do it so it’s about who’s mentally tougher than others.

“We let ourselves down against Cas. There wasn’t much between the teams but they just found a little bit extra.

“Super League’s so competitive this year that it’s all about who’s the best team on the day.”

“Unfortunately we had two losses over the Easter weekend but now we’ve got a chance to put it right on Friday.”

Despite their most recent setback, Clarke remains confident the team are moving in the right direction under head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith.

Clarke does think the process may take more time than anyone initially thought though and says the players appreciate patience shown by the fans as they work to bring success to Wolves.

He said: “We still believe we’re moving in the right direction.

“I know we’ve had a bad Easter but it was nice to see the majority of fans clapped us off and got behind us.

“That’s great and the players are really thankful for that because we need that.

“We’re having a bit of a bad spell but we really need the fans to get behind every one of us and help us along.

You’ve got to build bit by bit. We’ve got a lot to put right so you can’t do that overnight.

“It’s going to be a longer, slow process but we’ll get there, everyone’s pretty confident in the changing room that we’ll get there.

“You’ve got your long-term goals of making the finals or making the play-offs and they always stay constant but perhaps your week-to-week goals change depending on the situation.”
