Hull Isberg 10 Crosfields 36

CROSFIELDS’ dominance shone through the second half of Saturday’s 36-10 National Conference Division Two win against Hull Isberg at the Boulevard.

Matty Barber powered through Hull's defence and fed Phil Bannon for the opening try, with Anthony Monks converting.

Isberg replied with a try, as they did after Monks scored a 40-metre effort, leaving the sides all square 10-10 at half time.

Hull dominated the possession at the opening of the second half but the Crosfields defence remained resolute before a counter attack brought a debut first-team try from 39-year-old Lloyd Neary, who then crossed again.

M Barber was rewarded for his hard work with a try before Ian Boden rounded off the scoring, latching on to Monks’ chip kick.

Crosfields are at home to Egremont on Saturday, kick off 2.30pm.
