RYLANDS Sharks beat nearest rivals Saddleworth Rangers to be crowned Premier Division champions for the second season in succession.

They took a deserved lead when Allan King plucked the ball from the air from a great kick and a try from Sam Hughes helped to put them 12-6 ahead at half time.

Saddleowrth cut the gap to 14-12 in the second half but Rylands dug in and scored through Callum Wright, Ryan Mercer, Jack Sherratt and Ben Walker.

EAGLES pulled out all the stops to give league winners Shaw a competitive final fixture. Tries were scored by J Palmer, B Emery and O Garcia.

LATCHFORD played some of their best rugby of the year. New boys Sean Wells Reardon and Morgan Nicholas slotted into the team nicely. Conner Muir and Rhys Murphy touched down.

QUAY raced to an early 18-point lead before letting Golborne come back in to it. Tries came from Matthew Jevons, two, Reece Barry, two and Ashley Hickman. Best players were Matty Jevons and Lewis Thorpe

LEWIS Perrin’s 70-metre solo try completed a fine win for the Cobras. Other tries were scored by Jordan Chilton and George Moore.

AN excellent team performance led to a convincing win for Sharks, whose tries were scored by Tom Brown, Kieran Conneeley, Sam Hickey, Callum Hinton and Sam Vernon, two. Players of the match were Dylan Windsor for Sharks and Grady James for Crosfields.

CROSFIELDS overcame a spirited developing team with Lloyd Halpin as player of the match, George Brailey as top tackler, while Joe Hands collecting the coach's award.
