Warrington Wolves back row forward Louis Anderson copped for a high shot from York City Knights prop forward Danny Ekis, who also tripped his opponent.

Anderson, not one to take such action lightly, administered his own justice.

It was like a scene from hit ice hockey movie Slap Shot, where helmets and sticks would be thrown on the floor in a rage before letting fists fly.

Anderson threw the ball away and went gunning for Ekis, while teammates jumped in to help cool the situation.

Referee Jamie Child, after speaking with his touch judges, showed Ekis the red card and sent Anderson to the sin bin.

Ekis will have to appear before disciplinary chiefs in Leeds next Wednesday, answering to a charge of striking by way of leading with his forearm.

Anderson has not been charged for fighting but has received a formal caution.
