WOLVES head coach Jimmy Lowes has hit out at the fans he believes 'crossed the line' during Friday's 48-22 defeat at Wakefield.
Both Lowes and his players were on the receiving end of abuse and taunts from the crowd at Belle Vue, the Yorkshireman becoming involved in a heated exchange with supporters at one point.
Although Lowes is happy for fans to voice their opinions, he will not tolerate personal insults.
He said: "I'm focused on the team but I know what’s going on around me and I know what’s being said about the club.
"There are a lot of rumours going around and everybody is entitled to their opinions.
"It’s pretty obvious I’m not a fans’ favourite at the moment, which is fine, but one thing I’ve always said is people are entitled to their opinions.
"What I won’t have is abuse to the players and to myself. There is a line and unfortunately if you step over that I’ll react to it.
"The line was definitely crossed on Friday night and usually the people who are doing it have had a few beers.
"I’m working extremely hard, the guys are working extremely hard and whether I’m here or not in the near future, this bunch of players is a good bunch of players and they will be successful.
"But the work ethic is here and the staff and the players are working extremely hard to put this right and get us up and running."
