INTERNATIONAL rugby league star Tawera Nikau joined Warrington Wolves along with Allan Langer, Andrew Gee and Steve Blakeley for the 2000 season in Super League.
By the end of the year, he had added to his drawer of Kiwis caps as he led the New Zealand Maoris’ World Cup campaign.

Nikau, a former terrace hero at Cronulla Sharks in Australia and Castleford Tigers, helped the Maoris beat Scotland 17-16 at Firhill Park in Glasgow before suffering defeats against Samoa at Workington and Ireland in Dublin.
'T' made 59 appearances, including two in Challenge Cup semi finals, in his two seasons at Wilderspool with The Wire.
