AS proud a Welshman as you’ll ever meet, Kevin Ellis pulled on the red jersey three times in World Cup matches during his days as a Warrington Wolves player.
He was in the line-up as Wales overhauled France 28-6 at Ninian Park, Cardiff, in the 1995 centenary World Cup.
Ellis was among the try scorers in the second game, another Welsh win against Western Samoa in Swansea.
But he was not able to help the Dragons slay England in the semi finals at Old Trafford, ending up on the losing side 25-10.

The scrum-half was one of three big signings from Welsh rugby union in 1990, joining Bateman and Rowland Phillips at Wilderspool.
Ellis, who was also a Great Britain tourist, crossed for 35 tries in 123 appearances in his five years in primrose and blue.
