AFTER three consecutive away fixtures, Warrington Rylands will be glad of some home comforts this weekend.

However, manager Neil Reynolds is way of them getting too comfortable as attention turns back to the FA Trophy tomorrow.

They will be favourites for victory against lower-ranked visitors Ossett United, who ply their trade one tier lower down the pyramid and arrive sitting at the foot of the Northern Premier League East Division table.

In spite of that, Reynolds insists his players have to see this game as being tougher than their two league fixtures this week – a 1-1 draw at Matlock Town on Tuesday that followed a 1-0 loss to leaders Macclesfield – combined.

“I’ve told the boys that we can’t look at the table and where they are and think it’s going to be an easy game,” he said ahead of the first round proper tie.

“It’s going to be harder than Macclesfield and Matlock put together – that’s got to be a sign of our mentality.

“It doesn’t matter who we’re playing or what competition it’s in, we’ve got to go into every game wanting to win it but we’ve got a group in there that have shown me that they’re a honest group that won’t take their foot off the gas.

“We’re looking forward to a home game and we want all the fans to come. It will be nice to get back on home soil and hopefully, we can put a performance on.

“Their manager left this week so they may end up having a “new manager bounce,” so we know we’re going to have to be at our best.”

As Reynolds alluded to, Ossett are without a permanent manager after Dave Wild resigned earlier in the week, with senior player Ryan Qualter taking temporary charge.

And while they may have struggled in the league, the Yorkshiremen have already knocked an NPL Premier Division side out of the FA Trophy this season having beaten Prescot Cables 2-0 to set up their trip to WA2.

Rylands edged past Ossett’s divisional rivals Stocksbridge Park Steels via a penalty shoot-out to reach this stage, with the winners entering Monday’s second-round draw.
