HAVING declared himself delighted with his side’s efforts in defeat on Saturday, Neil Reynolds has challenged Warrington Rylands to replicate that as they hit the road again tonight.

The last of three consecutive away fixtures sees Blues visit Matlock Town, who like themselves are at the wrong end of the Northern Premier League Premier Division table.

However, Reynolds acknowledged his side face a tough test with the Gladiators on the up having lost just one of their five league games since new boss Ryan Cresswell took charge last month.

A new takeover has also allowed them to reinforce the squad, with a 3-2 victory over Basford United on Saturday allowing them to jump out of the relegation zone.

A win in Derbyshire would take Rylands out of the drop zone and while they may have lost 1-0 to unbeaten league leaders Macclesfield on Saturday, Reynolds says his side will be “full of belief” for their latest away trip.

“They’ve had the takeover now and a new manager, and they won at home on Saturday,” he said of tonight’s opponents.

“It’s going to be a difficult game as they’ve signed some really good players, but I’m not too concerned about the opposition.

“It’s more about what we do and we’ve got an exceptional dressing room that’s full of belief after beating Leek and going toe-to-toe with Macclesfield.

“We’ve got to go and replicate what we did on Saturday, which we look forward to.

“It breaks the week up – it’s better than training – and it’s a chance to get points on the board. We’ll go to Matlock in really good spirits.”
