WARRINGTON Rylands’ slow start to the Northern Premier League Premier Division season continued on Saturday afternoon.

They remain without a league win on home soil, with a 2-1 defeat to Bamber Bridge dropping Mark Duffy’s men to second-bottom of the table.

Two first-half goals put Blues on the back foot, with Lewis Hay and Jack Baxter striking for the visitors in the space of four minutes either side of the half-hour mark.

Manager Duffy then brought new loan signings Jake Daniels and Jai Curran-Nicholls off the bench at half time and that seemed to inspire a response from the hosts, with skipper James Neild pulling a goal back just shy of the hour mark to set up a grandstand finish to the game.

However, they could not force a leveller and now have just one win from their first nine league matches.
