MIKE Eccles insists London Broncos are "a different team" to the one that lost twice to Warrington Wolves in consecutive weeks earlier this year.

Despite that, however, he still admits "the odds are stacked heavily" against his side as The Wire make their second visit of the season to their Cherry Red Records Stadium home tomorrow.

The first of them ended in a 58-4 Warrington win in Round Five of Super League back in March while the following week, Sam Burgess' men won 42-0 in the Challenge Cup sixth round at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Eccles admits his side were "caught off-guard" by the pace in the Wire side when they first visited but hopes they are now better prepared for that this time.

"This is another step-up again – Warrington are a fantastic team and have done a number on us twice this year," he told the Broncos' YouTube channel.

"Along with Wigan and Hull KR, they are obviously up there as one of the top teams. The odds are stacked heavily against us again.

"They’re a very fast team with pace all over – the back three is probably the quickest of the competition.

"They’ve got pace through the middle as well with Danny Walker and George Williams as a running threat at half.

"We learnt that when the track dried a little bit when we played them at home. We got caught massively off-guard – we’re a different team now but the pace through their team is frightening.

"They’re a high-percentage team and they put a lot of pressure on you. They compound that with the speed they can throw at you so it’s a huge test."

London do come into the game buoyed by their shock victory over Catalans Dragons last time out, which was just their second win of the year.

Eccles believes they have been building towards getting over the line in a game and that the result has proved "massive" for their ailing confidence.

"We gave the blokes a couple of days off as it took a lot out of the tank," the Broncos boss said.

"We’ve been building up to that game for a while with it being back at Wimbledon as we hadn’t been too great in the games on the road at Ebbsfleet and Twickenham.

"We wanted to put in a performance and we did that.

"It’s not a secret that we should have won at Leeds but didn’t. There’s fine margins at times between getting over the line and not doing.

"We’re low on confidence at the minute as we’re not getting results, so to get over the line at the weekend was massive for us."
