AS can be expected with a dominant win, Warrington Wolves’ player stats against Huddersfield Giants were considerably positive.

True to form, full-back Matt Dufty led the way in a number of areas – the number of carries, the number of metres made and the number of try assistants.

Consistently breaking the 200-metre mark this season for territory gained with the ball, Dufty accumulated 250 metres in the 48-0 win at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday night.

The next best in a Wire shirt were forwards Paul Vaughan and Zane Musgrove, with 168.

Dufty was also marked for assisting with four of the eight tries that The Wire scored, coming from 24 carries – which was four better than the next best, George Williams.

Ben Currie topped the tackle count with 29, while close behind were Matty Nicholson 26, James Harrison 25 and Josh Drinkwater 24.

Huddersfield skipper Luke Yates, who has signed for Warrington next season, was their top tackler with 53 – highlighting how hard he worked in a defence regularly defeated.

Perhaps one of the most surprising stats of the game, though, was referee Jack Smith only awarding two penalties throughout the entire 80 minutes.

And neither of those went Warrington’s way. There can’t have been many games in the past where The Wire have not been awarded a single penalty.
