WITH two wins from their last three outings, things have picked up for Woolston Rovers of late.
As they prepare to return following a weekend off, however, they are now looking to take the next step in terms of recording back-to-back victories.
Rovers are back on home soil on Saturday as they welcome Clock Face Miners to Monk Sports Club with the aim of moving further clear of the wrong end of the table.
They currently sit eighth in National Conference League Division One, with their visitors at the foot of the table having won just twice all season.
But having steadied the ship in recent weeks following a six-match losing run, head coach Liam Lawton says the next task is to establish some consistency.
“We were delighted with the display at Oulton but what we need to do now is back that win up this weekend,” he said.
“We haven’t managed back-to-back wins yet this season and if we want to keep clear of the bottom three teams, we need to put that right.
“Clock have had some tough results over the past few weeks but know that they have always caused up problems.
“We will be preparing as usual expecting a hard battle and our aim is to get to a level of consistency that will make us very difficult to beat.
“Even though we had no fixture last weekend, the boys have trained well and are keen to have a strong second half of the year.”
Also back in action are Crosfields, who also had a week away from league action to host their annual Armed Forces weekend at Hood Lane.
They will be aiming to get themselves back into the mix at a tightly congested top end of the table, with just three points separating third from seventh, where Rob Campbell’s side currently sit.
Soap welcome another of the sides within that bunch – fifth-placed Ince Rose Bridge – to Hood Lane on Saturday.
Both matches get underway at 2.30pm.
