THE four Warrington Wolves youngsters who made their senior debuts against Wigan Warriors looked far from out of place.

Indeed, a look at the game’s stats paints a very impressive picture for a couple of them in particular.

Full-back Cai Taylor-Wray, outside back Jake Thewlis, second rower Nolan Tupaea and hooker Ben Hartill all played for the senior side for the very first time, with several more inexperienced youngsters as part of a much-changed side that were edged out 19-18 at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Taylor-Wray was particularly lively and finished as the highest metre-maker on either side, passing the 200m mark and finishing with 203 metres from his 20 carries.

Indeed, the second-highest figure came from another senior debutant in Wigan winger Jacob Douglas, who ran for 197 metres.

In all, eight Warrington players passed the 100m mark for the game, with prop Joe Bullock churning out an impressive 167m – the highest figure for a middle-unit player on either side – at an average of just under 10.5m per carry.

There were also some impressive figures from Tom Whitehead, who was on the field for 66 minutes in total having started at loose forward and made 138m from 14 carries (9.8m per carry average) as well as completing 29 tackles.

Centres Arron Lindop and Rodrick Tai both ended up with 132m while Josh Drinkwater (126m), Matty Nicholson (125m) and Connor Wrench (102m) all reached three figures.

Nicholson once again topped Wire’s tackle count with 34 with Sam Powell close behind with 31, with both also not recording a single missed tackle.
