WITH this weekend marking the start of a new season of rivalry between Crosfields and Woolston Rovers, here's a gallery of pictures to whet the appetite from previous clashes between the town's two current leading open-age rugby league sides.

They will be contesting the Stuart Middleton Foundation Warrington Cup Final at Victoria Park Stadium on Saturday afternoon, kicking off at 3pm after the Alliance Final between Latchford Albion and Burtonwood Bridge, which starts at 12.30pm.

With Woolston having sealed promotion last season and joined Soap in National Conference League Division One for the 2024 season, which starts a week later with Rovers at home to Oulton Raiders and Crosfields home to Skirlaugh, the keenest of 'derby' rivalries is back on the calendar.

They will meet in the league at Hood Lane on March 16 and then at Monk Sports Club on August 17.

Entry to Saturday's cup finals is free, with food and drink available throughout the day.
