FORTY Warrington Athletics Club runners contested the second round of the Manchester Area Cross Country League at Wythenshawe Park on Saturday.
Two of the teams achieved top three finishes.
In the under 11s boys race, Alex Farrell led the squad home in seventh place in 11mins 04secs and along with Tristan Tickle 15th (11.36) and Alfie Furnival 16th (11.45) the A team finished in third place on 38 points.
The B team of Luke Horman 48th (14.14), Sam Miller 50th (14.22) and Frankie Gallimore 53rd (14.38) finished 14th overall team and were third B team on 151 points.
The squad was completed by Percy Booker in 55th place in 15mins 44secs.
Emily Kinsey ran well in the under 15s girls event to finish eighth (19.24) and along with Lilly-Ella Ford 11th (19.58) and Sinead Gregory 23rd (21.07) the team were third on 42 points.
The B team of Sophie Parkinson 26th (21.18), Sarah Ashcroft 30th (21.39) and Jaycee Morrison 32nd (21.48) finished as ninth team overall and second B team on 88 points.
The squad was completed by Orlaith Clarke in 38th place (22.16).
In the under 11 girls race, Emilia Gandy finished in 11th place in 12mins 22secs and with Florence Mark 29th (13.16) and Charlotte Andrew 52nd (14.53) the team finished 10th on 92 points.
Euan Lawton was first to finish for Warrington AC in the under 13s boys race in 13th place with 13mins 40secs and with Harry Millar in 17th (14.03) and Eddie Walker 41st (14.55) the team took fifth spot on 71 points.
The under 13s girls A team duplicated the boys result finishing fifth on 65 points thanks to Evie-May Williams 14th (14.47), Eva Hayes 23rd (15.33) and Grace Rashud 28th (15.49).
The B team of Annie Noone 31st (16.13), Ellie Grace Stuart 37th (16.32) and Beth Lowe 63rd (18.23) finished 13th overall and were fourth B team.
The squad was completed by April Rimmer in 64th place (18.27).
In the under 15s boys race Elliot Taylor finished 23rd (17.46) and with Harvey Howard 50th (19.06) and Thomas Darbyshire 64th (20.52) they came 13th on 137 points.
Jacob Pryor was 14th in the under 17s men’s race in 22mins 52secs and Alex Rix crossed the line 18th in 23mins 38secs.
An excellent run by Rachel McQuillan in ninth place (33.46) led the senior women’s team home with Claire Andrew in 16th place (34.54) taking second in the over 45s age group.
The team counters were completed by Claire Demaine-Farrell in 45th (37.23) - sixth over 45 - and Jess Connelly 61st (38.19) - sixth under 20 - finishing in their highest team position ever on 131 points.
Faye Lawton 112nd (40.49), Faith Roberts 228th (46.10) and Sharon Taylor 263rd (47.42) completed the squad.
The day was concluded by the senior men’s race in which Cameron Field ran excellently to finish fourth in 36mins 28secs with Adam Rashud 79th in 40mins 52secs for 12th place in the over 40s age group and Dan Schofield 82nd in 40mins 59secs.
