COLIN Bishop was first home for Warrington Athletics Club in the Warrington Festival of Running on Sunday.
He was 18th in the 10K through the streets of Warrington with 38mins 17secs to win the over 60s age group, while Claire Andrew finished 49th overall in 41mins exactly to place second woman and win the women’s over 40s category.
In the half marathon, Jack Pilkington finished 12th for Warrington AC in 1hr 19mins 23secs and was followed in by Jonny Leatherbarrow on his debut over the distance in 145th place in 1hr 31mins 24secs with Louise Blizzard close behind in 154th spot overall in 1hr 32mins exactly to place ninth woman and second over 45 woman.
Warrington AC athletes were prominent in junior races, too.
In the fun run the club’s young athletes were dominant over the course, with Alex Farrell leading home in first place with 5mins 29secs and was followed home by Tristan Tickle in third in 5mins 48secs.
Emilia Gandy was fourth, and the first girl, in 5mins 51secs with Leonard Broadhurst sixth in 6mins 03 secs.
Noah Neimarlija was next in 11th in 6mins 44secs with Oscar Bering 12th in 6mins 46secs.
Lois Johnston Starrs was 17th in 6mins 56secs and Ettie Rashud was 19th in 6mins 57secs to finish third and fourth girls.
