WARRINGTON Wolves are set to be without prop Joe Bullock for the remainder of the Super League regular season.
Last week, it was revealed Bullock was to be sent for scans on an ankle injury sustained while playing for the reserves against Leeds on August 20.
Now, interim head coach Gary Chambers has confirmed the injury will keep him out for around four weeks and would not be fit to return until around the time of the play-offs, should The Wire make it.
Aside from Bullock, Chambers confirmed there were no fresh injuries of serious concern to report within the Wire squad - save for some "bumps and bruises" - ahead of Saturday's Round 24 clash with Castleford Tigers.
"He’ll be out for around four weeks I think," Chambers said of Bullock.
"Like with any injury, it’s just about how he responds to treatment now but the best estimate is around four weeks. That’s what we’re looking at at the moment.
"Other than that, we’re pretty healthy. There’s a couple of bumps and bruises around that I’ll check on tomorrow but as it stands, I think we’ll be fine."
Chambers also explained winger Matty Russell's recent absence from first-team matters.
Russell has not featured for The Wire since the defeat at Wigan Warriors in July and was even absent from the reserve-team game against Leeds earlier this month.
"He’s had a bit of an AC problem – we’ve had a couple of them around the group – but he’s nearly good to go," Chambers said of the Scotland international.
"It’s just one of those injuries that takes a little bit of time but it’s just about him coming right now."
While there may be no fresh injuries of note, Chambers insists he will have a final check on the general condition of his players before deciding upon any further rotation for Saturday's game.
Sam Kasiano and Gil Dudson have both been rotated out of the side in recent weeks, with the former returning against Hull FC on Saturday, and further changes have not been ruled out.
"It all depends on what we have bumps and bruises wise with a couple of blokes," Chambers said.
"We were good on rotations against Hull and we had that bit of flexibility towards the end to be able to bring Thomas Mikaele out of there and put Danny Walker back in.
"We haven’t really had that luxury but we do still have the option of rotating at the moment. We’ll just have a final check on how these bumps and bruises settle down."
