GRAPPENHALL Cricket Club first XI put up a fight at Cheadle but were on the wrong side of the result in the Cheshire County Cricket League.
Grappers batted first and posted a below par 115 all out, Ben Bodha batting superbly against the strong Cheadle bowling attack to finish 65 not out.
Then Grappers made Cheadle work hard for their runs.
Unfortunately, it was too tall an ask as Cheadle won by three wickets.
Kiwi Tom MacRury picked up 4-39 and Arav Shetty contributed with 2-13.
At Broad Lane, the seconds won against Romiley by the mammoth margin of 191 runs.
Grappers posted a massive 253-3 wickets with Richard Wiles scoring a superb century, finishing on 125 off just 113 balls.
Opener Dan Adkins chipped in with 74.
Romiley were never in the race as they were rolled for just 62.
Lloyd Milligan led the bowling attack with 4-13 off 10 overs.
On Sunday the thirds won at Ashley in a low scoring game.
Ashley batted first and were bowled out for 138 in the final over of their innings, Lloyd Milligan carrying on his fine Saturday form as he picked up 3-8 off 10 overs this time.
James Knowles and Omar Arif picked up two wickets apiece.
In response Grappers'young side lost wickets regularly, but youngster James Knowles carried his bat from start to finish, finishing on 60 not out to guide Grappers home with four wickets and seven balls to spare.
