WOOLSTON Rovers will be looking to build on their impressive win at Saddleworth Rangers last weekend when they travel to Dewsbury to face Shaw Cross Sharks in a National Conference League Division Two fixture on Saturday.
The game was postponed earlier in the season due to inclement weather.
Woolston Rovers, who have won five of their six games so fsr, go into the game level on points with the top two but holding down third place on points difference.
Shaw Cross are three points point in fourth after having defeated Normanton Knights 44-6 at home last time out.
Rovers NCL head coach Billy Sheen will be hoping that his side can continue their impressive start to the season.
He said: “We are obviously in a decent place but it is still very early in the season.
"On the whole we have been pleased with how we have started the campaign but know that there is plenty of improvement in us.
"We need to start getting a settled side and then our cohesion will improve as a result.
"Shaw Cross had a fine win last week so will be in a confidant mood but we will also go into the game knowing that if we can continue to produce the goods then we will be extremely difficult to beat.”
The coach leaves Monk Sports Club at noon for any supporters wishing to travel. Contact Nikki Whalley on 07889 170895 to secure your place.
Rovers A travel to Rochdale Mayfield A in the North West Men's League Alliance Cup second round. Kick off is 2.30pm at Keswick Street, Rochdale.
Rovers were frustrated last weekend when their scheduled league fixture at Ashton Bears A was postponed with the team already stripped and ready to start their warm up, so will be keen to get out onto the field this week.
Coach Liam Lawton said: “It was disappointing last week as we had a strong side but there was nothing we could do once the referee deemed the pitch to be unfit.
"We will now be looking to get that frustration out of our system and have a good cup run.
"We played Mayfield at home a few weeks ago and failed to do ourselves justice so we will be looking to redeem ourselves and get the right result.”
