CROSFIELDS will start their National Conference League campaign at West Bowling next Saturday on the back of a fine win against Latchford Albion in the Stuart Middleton Warrington Cup Final at Victoria Park.
Promoted Soap were too powerful for a hard-working Latchford side that operate three divisions below them and ran out 62-10 winners, completing a club cup double as their A team won the Alliance final the week before against Burtonwood Bridge.
Luke Walker bagged a hat-trick of tries for Matty Wilson's men, while Jack Fox also crossed for a brace.
Tom Millington was relentless in the Soap back row and earned the man of the match award.
Soap's cause was helped by making fewer mistakes and conceding less penalties.
“I thought we started the game really strongly," said Wilson.
"Latchford worked really hard but I was really happy with our control and we will take a lot from that into next week.”
