RILEY Dean will be looking to continue his fine start to life at loan club Featherstone Rovers this afternoon.
He is likely to be at the forefront of the Championship promotion favourites’ bid to continue their perfect start to the campaign against Whitehaven at Post Office Road.
Dean, who is on a season-long loan with Sean Long’s side, has scored three tries in his first two games for Rovers and his displays have caught the eye.
The half-back remains a part of the Warrington Wolves group for weekly training and the deal includes an option for The Wire to recall him fully at any time during the campaign.
For now, though, head coach Daryl Powell is happy to see the 21-year-old take his chance to shine.
“He’s started the season really well. It’s a great opportunity for him to play every week,” he said.
“He’s played minimal games over the past couple of years, and there was Covid before that.
“For him, he’ll benefit massively from his time at Featherstone even just by playing every week. He’ll get a hell of a lot out of it so it’s a perfect scenario for him.
“Riley doesn’t want to be sat around playing one week and then not the next, so it’s a really good opportunity for him and one I’m sure he’ll grab with both hands.”
