JAMES Harrison’s new contract reduces the number of Warrington Wolves players entering the final year of their deals.

While the number of first-team players coming off-contract as there were last year, there are still some big names about to enter the last year of their current terms.

Harrison was one of those until he penned a two-year extension to his deal last week, which keeps him at the club until November 2025.

As it currently stands, however, the likes of Daryl Clark, Ben Currie and Peter Mata’utia are entering their final years.

Other players entering the last season of their Wire deals are utility back Greg Minikin and second rower Ellis Longstaff, who will spend 2022 on loan at Salford Red Devils, while winger Matty Russell was signed on a 12-month deal with the option for a second year in the club’s favour.
